Inside The Book Hyperfocus

The book was first published in 2018. The book Hyperfocus has a bunch of ideas and knowledge about being productive and staying focused. According to the author, his life has become a series of screens.

Just like us, the way we spend our life. And then Chris tried to bring a change and started experimenting with new ideas in his life. He started researching and meeting with people who researched attention and focusing for years.

After this research, Chris wrote a research note of more than 25 thousand words about focus. And then finally he wrote a book called Hyperfocus. Now let’s go inside the book. The author discussed the 4 stages of Hyperfocus. Before that, there were also some other things.

But I’ll try to provide just a summary. Not the carbon copy of the real book. The first stage of Hyperfocus is to choose a meaningful and productive task that is valuable for you.

The second stage is to turn off all external distractions until the task is finished. Such as turning off your mobile phone. The third stage is to stick to that task with full attention and focus. And the fourth stage is to keep coming back to the task and keep focusing after getting a bit distracted. Some ways have been discussed to implement Hyperfocus in your daily life.

Another thing I found interesting in the book is Scatter focus. It is just the opposite of Hyperfocus. Hyperfocus teaches us to keep our full focus and attention to one task; on the other hand, scatter focus means freeing your thoughts and mind for creative ideas. Scatter focus means not staying focused on one task only at a time.

Scatter focus is not being attentive to one task. Our mind loves to think about the future more than the present or past. Our mind moves towards immediate future thoughts. That is why scatter focus is also important in our life. There are three stages of scattering focus. First, you have to free your mind, and then you have to capture your thoughts and ideas that are subconsciously coming into your mind.

Second, you have to identify problems and then find solutions to them. Third, the most interesting one, while you are walking, doing your brush, or bathing, some amazing ideas may come to your mind. You have to capture those ideas.
